I'll never sell myself short again
I'll never sell myself short again
This I tell myself over and over again
I've got my pride and it's not a sin
To know I'm worth more than what you have given me
I'll make my happy ending, I swear
Drive my own road to where I belong
No one else can tell me who I am
I am am exactly what I've always known myself to be
Though your words still ring in my head
I'll drown them out and carry on
Your noose is now only your own
I'll no longer hang on your melancholy
I'll never sell myself short again
This I plead over and over again
Take your errant condemnation, your quest for pity
They won't beat me down anymore
This I tell myself over and over again
I've got my pride and it's not a sin
To know I'm worth more than what you have given me
I'll make my happy ending, I swear
Drive my own road to where I belong
No one else can tell me who I am
I am am exactly what I've always known myself to be
Though your words still ring in my head
I'll drown them out and carry on
Your noose is now only your own
I'll no longer hang on your melancholy
I'll never sell myself short again
This I plead over and over again
Take your errant condemnation, your quest for pity
They won't beat me down anymore
