I am Dryad
a child of the earth
a flower of the soil
a voice of the air
a gossamer
breathing air
an amoeba
no reflections
nothing
I am Dryad
I exist not.

I love this description, Grace.... I think of Treebeard the Ent from Lord Of The Rings... He's my favorite Tolkien character, similar imo, to the descriptions of Dyrad - both are definitely respected, timeless..... and wise..

As a child, I was very lonely and used to wander the jungle. I used to glimpse people that nobody saw but me, this further isolated me from my parents and siblings, for when I told them about what I saw and experienced, they think I was crazy and a liar. This further isolated me as I didn't talk to them but more to what I saw and befriended. I call myself a nonentity; later I identify myself as a 'spirit' of the wood; thus the name Dryad...spirit of the oak.🙂fanciful I know. I watched Tolkien LoR too. Beautiful sceneries within. Thanks dear Blue for reading me.🌹💝

You're a lovely, beautiful and wise soul, Grace. I fully empathize with your childhood recollections.... yes, somewhat sad but I think, like me, the woods and nature were a soothing balm and a much needed escape... Not for anything but I would have listened, agreed and introduced you to my sprites and fairies (I was convinced!)that I had as a child!! My family lived on 5 acres of woods in the state of Ohio, where I grew up and I would climb the trees, make forts in them, and play/ explore from as soon as the sun was up until I finally heard my mom calling to come home, barley making it for lunch or dinner... lol...So I can understand that name and your youthful memories... I was often chastised too but could've cared less... That's where I was supposed to be... and I relished it too. I think I've lost that love as an adult and living in Florida for too long.....sadly.
Ty for the reminder,
I enjoyed my woods and what they taught me!
Be well, my dear!
