Numb

Been a year since the sun went down
Warmth of a dim fire keeps away the numb and cold
Days and nights without light
A chill runs constantly thru these bones
Lights blur from a city so far away
I fear to leave the cave so do not stray
Thoughts and dreams fade and fragment
A bitter cold freezes stagnant
Close these eyes perchance to dream
Morning of a sun that will rise
Bring with it a rising heat
