The element of pain when someone dies is beyond a pain that can be measured. It’s feral. It’s a primal scream that only another wounded animal can feel.
Your poem has such an incredible intensity knowing it’s a loss that is forever. You don’t “get over it”. Ever. I try to keep packing grief away in one suit case or another but it always shows up in the laundry basket begging for a wash. Lovely piece. Sad, but so lovely. H🌷
