The Storm Clouds
I have a new found appreciation
Understanding I should feel blessed
Witnessing the sight and sound
Knowing these storms are a test
They’ll cleanse the soul and earth
With a powerful display of lightening
As the deafening chaotic symphony
Reverberates it’s quite frightening
The storm clouds gather in mass
Delivering winds and heavy rain
And while they usually helps heal
Sometimes they can deliver pain
So I sit here, listening and pondering
Thinking about what the professor said
Our eyes look to the skies thundering
Wondering what conditions lie ahead
Then finally, the light breaks through

Yes, just a storm leaves the air crisp and clear, getting caught in the downpour also has it's ups and downs.

I had many moments in the past few years where the light indeed broke through and helped me grow step by step. Thank you for making me remember them.
PS: As you encourage honest critique, this line: "And while they usually helps heal" doesn't seem right grammatically. Maybe it should be "And while this usually helps heal?" Or is a deliberate use of language? What I mean is that helps is singular if I'm not mistaken, so if it's "they" it should be "help", not "helps".

Thank you Altair for your comment and your feedback. Yes, I'll have to look at that line. This was my first entry for the April NaPoWriMo challenge and I was staying within a unique word count for all the poems through the month.

Oh man how blessed it is to see a ray of light, somedays. It's the best when it blows dust from the dark corners, filling it with warmth. Fantastic piece, Wally!

Thank you very much Eerie. I know some folks feel like there is no light during their dark times, but once it comes through, it's pretty glorious.
