Hot and pouring
Where it shouldn’t be
Steam changing
Our atmosphere
Thickening the air
And seeding clouds
Inside our minds
Yes
This is the time
For us to think
Pressure relief
It makes total sense
Keep trying everything
We’ll run it dry
If we have to
Too much pressure
Broken valves
Ain’t that the way
These days
We are all
Hot and pouring

My kids and my wife each supplied 10 topics that were dear to them, for a list of 30, and each day at some moment, my job is to recognize a connection to one of the remaining topics and then manifest it poetically. Yesterday, the hot water heater started acting funny, I recognized an opportunity to write with water (a topic) as a metaphor and ended up with an ode to anxiety. Today's will be built around flowers :)
