Sins and Conversations
She had seen the souls of many
She probably knew men
Better than their partners did
And I was about to be one of her conquests
"You're a little young to be here" she remarked.
"Life happens I guess" - meanwhile we were both the same age. Life leading us both to this very point.
We shared the same sin
But over time what we really shared
Were honest conversations
Our stories were similar
Both of screwed over by life
However I respected her for making a plan
I was here to fill a growing void
She had a plan and a way out
Don't get attached I always say
I knew I wasn't the only one
Yet my curiosity always took me down rabbit holes
Performer and spectator
I knew I just didn't fit in
but I also knew that this was my chance to learn by just observing
People aren't what they seem
and if society allowed everyone ro remove their masks
You'd have a different impression
of many of them
The strong become vulnerable
And the confident are truly lonely
My time was brief
but I got to know a lot of people
Had we met in the streets
All of us would seem so put together
I treasure the conversations
because they were more bare
Than any naked body I had ever seen
I left whilst my experience was still good
But I did leave her there
She hadn't reached her goal yet
I do still think about her though
I wish her all the best
As I do treasure the sins and conversations that we shared
She probably knew men
Better than their partners did
And I was about to be one of her conquests
