Image for the poem My Golem

My Golem

Out of clay I formed my Golem.
His intended purpose the destruction of my enemy.
My adversaries echo hate for how I look and what I believe.
So out of clay I call to rise from ash and earth, blessed be my Golem’s birth.
Truly I revere to be the contender of my brother’s curse.
My enemy stands, emboldened by my false weakness as his strength.
With ancestral orchestra I mold my Golem.
My fears become its fodder; my rage becomes his identity.
Then out of stone I form his feet.
On my golem’s sole my enemy’s head shall meet defeat.
My Golem sees those who chose to stand against my best self
Therefore from the top shelf I collect frankincense for his sense.
On the same level I reveal myrrh as his temperament.
For intent I bring forth iron breastplates to cover the heart that is our future.
In choosing alabaster oil my Golem becomes my enemy’s accuser.
In hell fire I bring life towards my Golem; in hell and in heaven my enemy can not rest.
My Golem.
