TWO POEMS
WE ARE BASKETS
I know that
Beneath the surface
We are long stiff fibers
Bound to inner frame
Interspersed
Red and blue threads
Conveying
All significance
Still what I see
Is art
WE ARE FLOWERS
Bees know how
The honey's made
For me it’s just the luscious
Glimmering excitement
Of an impossibly
Sweet world
On a spoon entering mouth
Coating buds in nectar
As if I were myself a flower
Eager to be pollinated
I know that
Beneath the surface
We are long stiff fibers
Bound to inner frame
Interspersed
Red and blue threads
Conveying
All significance
Still what I see
Is art
WE ARE FLOWERS
Bees know how
The honey's made
For me it’s just the luscious
Glimmering excitement
Of an impossibly
Sweet world
On a spoon entering mouth
Coating buds in nectar
As if I were myself a flower
Eager to be pollinated
