Lost & Found
The year before the flood
It was a famous time
All but forgotten
Where winds withheld their blow
And souls traveled
Like there was nothing wrong
And there wasn’t
Except for what was to come
Academics no idea as usual
How much do you know?
I know so much!
Except for that & that & that
I’m a prima donna!
Don’t you recognize me?
I’ve worked so very hard
Mind above soul always
Lucky to have kept the latter
Thanks to my grants, ours
And you, with all your brilliance
And us, with all our hard work
Life is unfair, I know that, we
But do you have to do it so easily?
With so little regard for rank
I, we, suppose not
It was a famous time
