What a snapshot; I've often wondered how deeply * freaks of nature ( as they're referred to by asses ) * are able to love when they find it.
There’s a short story by Flannery O’Connor called Temple of the Ghost about a hermaphrodite in a travelling freak show, the point of the story being that all bodies are temples of the spirit. I think of that story when the subject of “freaks” comes up. x

It's very relevant and relatable and speaks to the desire for acceptance of our flaws to me. 💖🙏🏻
