Face The Facts
Seen from this perspective
Life takes on a tragicomic look
Being gifted a modicum of intelligence
Just by dent of being homo sapien
You can know all the facts
And the reasons for your own demise
And wish for stupidity
So as not to have to face the facts
That stare you in the face
It's almost funny
To be smart enough to wish for ignorance
But you'll soon notice that nobody is laughing
I smile at the incongruence
But I smile through tears
Life takes on a tragicomic look
Being gifted a modicum of intelligence
Just by dent of being homo sapien
You can know all the facts
And the reasons for your own demise
And wish for stupidity
So as not to have to face the facts
That stare you in the face
It's almost funny
To be smart enough to wish for ignorance
But you'll soon notice that nobody is laughing
I smile at the incongruence
But I smile through tears
