Will Spring Ever Come?
My heart shivers this cold Winter Eve
Not from the icey air outside this window
But from the fear your heart has grown cold
And the memory of me is nothing more
Than broken crystals of fallen flakes
That once were a beautiful white blanket of snow
My feathers have shattered into distant vagaries
And oh how I so badly desire the warmth of your inner fire
To light my night and melt the fear to vaporous clouds
That will once again become snowflakes to soften our steps on the slippery ice beneath our feet
I miss you more deeply than a blizzard can burry the Earth
While all I can do is wait for this season of ice to thaw into a river in Spring
Let me know you still care and will someday
Shine your light within on the seeds in need of your fiery blaze
