Just Out of Reach

churgling gurgling
flowing streams
ideas and emotions
and too what seems

is just beyond,
just out of reach
where etheric beings
invisibly teach

the sublime joy
in simple things
breathing in
and out with wings

flittering fluttering
shimmering sights
in the dark days
through the long nights

on the edge
and just out of sight
always close by
in case that we might

let go our thinking
step out of its stream
to be swept away
in an invisible beam

spiraling twisting
and rotating
this and that way
such a marvelous thing

just beyond,
just out of reach
