Holographic landscape pieces flicker eerily
Like a broken motel
vacancy sign.

The street pavement is crawling
with the footsteps
of a thousand centipedes
cascading caccoons burst free.

Caught suspended
in time we're human
trigger warnings
covered in the scent of victory

And also of defeat..

The soulless faces
Of checklisted humanity
Laugh without mirth
And love without passion
Idly watching the clock tick
Counting down

The eternal hell awaits
Amongst elders voices
Long silent
Forgotten in the rubble
Of ancient kingdoms
Torn asunder
