Sleep

I can't imagine ever living a life
Where I'd be scared of not waking up
The delicious sleep
The sanctity presented in a tiny pill.

My thoughts so real
That chase and hound me
When i lay in the dead of night
Make me seek refuge
In pharmaceuticals
They offer some respite
From my own mind.

Because my biggest foe is time,
Betwixt the hours that pass
From dusk till dawn,
And im awake and on my own,
But feel most at home.

Like a vampire;
Roaming and alone.
Insomnia in all my loneliness
Penetrates, making me stone.

I lay there waiting
For the fuzzy haze
To hit me, full effect.
It feels I haven't shut my eyes for days
My pupils large, and now dilated
I can taste it, its metallic
And i know preparing me,
For the moment ive wanted
For forever.
To just shut my eyes and sleep.
