Final Hour
today I saw a minute hand
like a shooting star across a clock
wishing the final hour
felt like thirty six hundred seconds
I’m aware it’s the same
God knows I tried to slow time
...but my tears ran anyway
so I spent our last moments
counting blinks and smiles
and bad jokes
hoping we’d laugh so hard
it’d hurt more than our goodbyes
...as precious as they’ve always been
yet took for granted
that hour we lived more than our whole lives
and there I hoped
for day light savings
for a leap year
for a glitch in the matrix
if Jesus could walk on water
than a grain of sand could defy gravity in an hour glass
Can’t it?!
and there we were
like an eclipse in the sky
when night and day coexist to exist
the moment was everything
...watching life and death’s equinox
