blind and deaf gardener
sees only chaos
hears only noise

seeking control
acreage fenced
‘pests’ poisoned
fields tilled
soil fertilized
select seeds sown

monoculture

green carpet
intensively maintained
masks toxic dying soil
deep
beneath ground
dead garden
devoid of diversity

angers rage then disappear
suppressed
unexpressed
encapsulated

depression fills-in
dissatisfied
apathetic

eden evolved to weedy sandbox

once radiant gem clouded
avoided reviled
repellent

nature’s masterpiece

fit only for
feces
flies
and wild dogs

silent desolation
