The day the fair came to town

 Gaudy music leaves a stain
the generators powering its gauche proclaims
steam organs dressed with wooden drummers
automaton all the bandstand playing Souza
the music like the rides swirl your emotions
a Scottish reel with kilt a blowing
undulating like the waltzer
a swarthy grin that spins the seat
screaming like the noon express
abandon in delights volumptuosness
bright youth however old you are
dislodge a coco-nut so shy
a soft toy, a prize, sizzling like burger fries
a kiss as soft as candy floss
riding on an undulating horse
headonism a Ferris wheel so high
no subtle thrills, is there no limit
for the starry eyed, just one a minute
electric cars with sparks a flashing
crashing, bashing, belly laughing
toffee apples oh so sweet
memories we never can repeat
