Tellin' Season

The breeze was dropping secrets
with every falling leaf
Until the trees stood naked
There’s no tellin’ the words he’ll speak
Why the hell he have to wait so long
To kick up dust at the end of day
I always knew the storm was coming
But why did it have to come today

Here comes the Tellin' Season
Bout to find out the rhyme and reason
For all the things he did and didn’t do
Inside the Telling season
The weather of his words- gets you believing
That he did it all for you
That ain’t true
But he gets it off his chest anyways
Because you know it’s his end of days
Inside the Tellin' Season

He could barely get the words out
Trippin on his twisted tongue
By the look in his eyes
He didn’t like the things he’s done
You better buckle up
For the stories your bout to hear
Maybe take the edge off
And crack yourself a beer

Chorus
Here comes the Tellin Season
Where you find out the rhyme and reason
For all the things he did and didn’t do
Inside the Telling season
The weather of his words- get you believing
That he did it all for you
That ain’t true
But you let him get it off his chest anyways
Because you know it’s his end of days
Inside the Tellin Season

Bridge
Now that he’s gone
I’m missing the things I missed
And all the things he taught me
It was mostly lost regrets
If tomorrow is on loan
My Tellin better start today
Those were his final words
No better words to say
Inside the Tellin Season
