There's a crack inside my soul
I could sing about it forever
but I never will return to how I was
And I run so I can find
what lies over this divide
but every time I lose myself again
There's a crack inside my self
Every night I sit with Death
but each morning somehow I'm awake again
It's a nightly visitor,
sits beside me to whisper,
"Can you tell me why it is that you're alive?"
There's a place inside my soul
I'm afraid I'll never go
and each day I listen to its echo

This has a raw confessional quality that is engaging and endearing. I often think about how there are cracks in everything. There is a Japanese concept, I think, that states the beauty lies in the flaws. I think this is true.

Thank you, Daniel. I always appreciate your take on my writing. I have heard of that concept before, kintsugi. My cyniviacal eastern European mind interpreted it as a way to convince yourself that something breaking is actually a good thing :p
