Elvis Crashed The Party
The party is dissolved and
it is trench warfare
As my military brother in
Cannes
reports
Elsie wears local leather jackets and
stays up all night
The girl and I were on vacation on our
way home
All governments were out
The salt water hit the bottom of the
sand
It was full of people who didn't
understand
Why did we decide to stay away from
the war?
Their anxiety drove us out of town
Areas to where old houses can be built
or demolished
Not bad, not a game
It was forbidden to go with Elsie
though
But we broke the law and went over to
the window
And the sun was brighter than the
hydrogen bomb
