You can tell
by the warmth in her breath
that her toes do not freeze

What I like about this poem is it really makes me wonder ... where are you sitting? what are you wearing? Why don't you turn up the heat or put on a warm pair of wool socks? If your're both under the covers maybe you can do something that'll heat you both up? I have a conucopia of suggestions, but you might not bend that way ;-)
