The first break
Awakening to a World
that bloomed as innocence fades
Ripped of trusts this chest did mourn
The loss of love, of hopes withheld
All of thirteen great rains
My heart was shattered
Smashed and blasted
By the man whom I loved;
For he chose another
So much more tender
with the face of an angel
and the mind of a whore.
The years have flown
The time have gone
Memories linger unfettered
A broken heart, and lost dreams
Lies still within
Hopes to awaken once again
that bloomed as innocence fades
Ripped of trusts this chest did mourn
The loss of love, of hopes withheld
All of thirteen great rains
My heart was shattered
Smashed and blasted
By the man whom I loved;
For he chose another
So much more tender
with the face of an angel
and the mind of a whore.
The years have flown
The time have gone
Memories linger unfettered
A broken heart, and lost dreams
Lies still within
Hopes to awaken once again

Another great from you...

The first broken heart is the most painful. After that, our hearts become somewhat calloused and the pain a little less.

Oh yes Rachel; the pain can be awful; thats why some teens commit suicide or do drugs, just to numb the pain. After that, yes: our hearts get a little more tougher.:D Thanks for being here.
I hear you

SKILLFULLY WRITTEN

You have taken a subject that happens to all and turned it into a confection of a poetry....it seems easy to write and read...but can see the hard work and talent behind.

Paradox

The disappointment at the forced (unexpected0 breaking and the desire and hope for it is smashing. I just love this.
