Playing for Keeps

I'm Jake and ready to play the game of chance promised by Dark Cloud
I picked 5, 7 and 12 from the lineup with the number meanings in mind
Five for unity and balance, she seemed quite safe to me
Seven for Universe in motion, I think she’d set me free
Twelve is often the victim, I think she’d be such fun
Now what comes next I asked the cloud
It said, “Go and get some sun.”

I walked to the park nearby and there was number seven
She smiled and said, "Hello."
She said, “May I stay with you a while.”
I said, "Come on now, let's go."

We came together quickly
She bounced upon my cock
She said, “I think I love you.”
I said, “This will come as a shock.”

You're a pawn in a game of life and death
And you're about to lose
She went so quietly without a sound
My hold she couldn't refuse

The next morning I went to the park again
And there was number five
More beautiful than her picture
So young and so alive

She smiled as if she knew me
“May I spend some time with you?”
I took her to my bedroom
She knew just what to do

It wasn’t long before
I pressed down on her hard
She laughed and said she loved it
She let down all her guards

As my grip got stronger
She looked with tearful eyes
I kept on pressing into her
Knowing she would die

She went away then peacefully
As if she knew her role
I planted seed within her flesh
And then dismissed her soul

It was now time to meet
My favorite, number twelve
She was the prettiest of them all
Sometimes beauty can be hell

She came right to my door
I gladly let her in
She smiled and said, “I’ve come for you.”
“I’m ready to begin.”

I thought I recognized her
Had I not seen her before?
She laughed and said, "I don't know how."
"It's my first time through your door."

"Come now, give that cock to me
There's magic I want to do"
I surrendered myself to her
She showed me some love that's true"

She came up for air and smiled
"You cheapen girls for thrills
But now you've played a game for keeps
You've picked the girl who kills"

She stood there naked with gun in hand
Aimed right at my chest
I was stunned, what had I done?
She said, "Time for your own eternal rest."

Remember me when great with child?
My name was Susan, my child was Jenny
I thought you'd save me from my lack
When you left us there wasn't any

I saw her then expecting a child
That night that was her ending
But now she's back to give me justice
From the debts that I've been spending

The gun fired once and hit my chest
Like the swinging of a hammer
The gun then raised pointing to my eyes
I said, "I'm sorry," with a halting stammer

In that moment all flashed before me
Each life I'd brought to an end
Absent were any thoughts of pleasure
Now sweet death my only friend

So, if Dark Cloud says, "Come and play"
The risks are much too great
Jake would say it's not worth the cost
To learn of life's cruel fate
