Love this one ... the sunflower ... with its vibrant yellow ... now just black and white ... then the metaphor of varying memory as a shade ... wonderful ...

This was an interesting piece for me. In my feed I clicked on the poem title, “That Should Be Yellow” and as soon as the picture pops up my brain is scrambling to put the pieces together. I’m reading the title and I see the flower, but I see it as yellow for just a split second, and then I register monochrome.
Reading the poem for a second time, I’d say mission accomplished...

Things are not always what they appear! Assumption can be dangerous. Full color memories can become monochrome is an instant... super and thought provoking write. 😂🌹🌹🤔

You’re right it should be yellow and yet it’s almost more interesting in monochrome.
I really appreciate the message of your poem. To me, it registers how we could all have a shared experience but we’ll all have different thoughts on what we took away from it. Wonderful piece. H🌷
