CHICAGO
Another gun death is Chicago
Becomes mundane
A piece of twisted normality
No one really takes notice
Blinkered Kentucky Derby horses
But there are the Ghouls of night
Modern-day social vampires
Spiting out acid saliva
Focused drooling
On a young man
Lying in a pool of blud
Shotgun to the gut
Stood no chance
Standing on the wrong street
The silence is shattered
His Mom arrives in a cop car
She screams, people gasp
The ghouls regret the body claimed
She is literally uncontrollable, inconsolable
Trying to put back parts of her boys
Entrails and vital organs blown out
She wallows in his blud
Crying and screaming
Eventually, she is led away
What's left of her son
Scooped into a body bag
No need for blues and twos
The scene now is like
Nothing happened
Even the ghouls melt away
But the is still tomorrow
Or later tonight
Click-clack - Another victim
And nobody cares
Apart from his Mom
Becomes mundane
A piece of twisted normality
No one really takes notice
Blinkered Kentucky Derby horses
But there are the Ghouls of night
Modern-day social vampires
Spiting out acid saliva
Focused drooling
