Jail
I miss my incarcerations
out there I'm anonymous
another a blackface
in a white crowd
a double felon
on borrowed time
been in the rathouse
for six months
couped up like a chicken
no dignity
no privacy
no justice
in some ways, it's home
familiar surroundings
bars you can not get a wild turkey in
not even before closing time
circumstantial evidence shows
a life sentence with no life
no plea bargain
it looks grim
odds..........s

Salvation robust

“Spare de rod and spoil de child”

the bars are not set firm
although they are of fired steel
risin and fallin, infirm
expandin and contractin
like actions reactin
like Gods breath of life
moving in time with rib cage
there is no time like prison time
where the few freedoms by the man granted
are bleached away with a single flush
a disinfected pine smelling gush
the mark of a man tattooed
man forced on man like bitches
rules apply snitches get stitches
shanks approved

is not prevented by bars
