Forget me
If i was remembered at all
Did you look
Was i seen
As just a shadow
An inferior being
Hidden, forgotten
Occasionally scrutinised
As if an insect
Or a germ
Label, bag and tag
Keep for posterity
A curiosity at best
My instructions
Are in a different language
Rolling eyes of indignation
The ripple effect
More a hindrance
New age leper
To be avoided
The autism jacket
Several sizes too big
Defective garment
But expected to wear
As proof of who i am

This spill reminds me of a time i interacted with a customer's son
and when he went to checkout the color markers aisle, She said she was amazed that i was willing to chat with her son. She said her son is autistic and i said, " Uh huh. Why would that make a difference to me? "
She thanked me for treating him like he didn't have autism. Today (believe it or not) i now understand what and why that Mom said to me that day.
i think maybe i just wear a different type of color-blind and everything-blind lenses (eyes / heart)

I have a perpetual thorn in my side
