homeless
He's homeless
he's got nowhere to go
all he owns
is his guitar
and a transistor radio
and when he's
feeling like
he can't go on
he sings his songs
on the subway
he sounds
a little like dylan
plays like b.b. kng
and he feels
like he's someone
when they listen
to him sing
his only prayer
is one day
he'll get a break
and he can make
a record
how his heart aches
for him
it's not about the money
though it could
get him a home
he"s all about
connecting with
folks he has never known
when he sings
he never feels alone
he's got nowhere to go
all he owns
is his guitar
and a transistor radio
and when he's
feeling like
he can't go on
he sings his songs
on the subway
he sounds
a little like dylan
plays like b.b. kng
and he feels
like he's someone
when they listen
to him sing
his only prayer

and he can make

how his heart aches

connecting with
folks he has never known
when he sings
he never feels alone

Nice ... a little sad ... but with rays of hope at the end ... makes me think of street musicians I used to see ...

Excellent portrayal of a man with a guitar playing for whomever will listen and a little monetary help as well ...

This is very enlightening and heart touching with a magical overtone reminds me of the days in NYC on train platform listening to music of the souls as each has a story to tell respect dear poetess

Thank you so much. I was inspired by a real life homeless musician who is very talented. He believes he is worth a little something when he performs. Thank you for your lovely comments. They mean alot to me.

Re. homeless
This is a lovely observation, Faith. Were it not for music, poetry, or art, who knows where many down on their luck would be. 🎶🎸❤

Yes. That's what I was trying to say. His music is his life. I was told many years ago that my gift of writing most likely is what kept me in this life when life was rocky for me.
