Which mask should I wear today?
I get out bed and look in the mirror and ask myself "which one should I wear today?"
What kind of persona do I want to display?
Do I want to show them how I truly feel?
Do I want them to see my depression is real?
I havent worn the mask echoing with laughter in awhile.
Or perhaps I should wear the mask with a painted on smile?

Your eyes appear pretty blue to me, almost pale with barely a hint of green to be seen. I am a little colour blind however, lol. I co-wrote of a crimson red & blue mask but I wouldn't propose anyone wear that! If shaded contact lenes could make you feel happier then perhaps?
Personally, I feel your eyes are just fine as they are. I have nothing to gain by saying that. ;-)

How well I understand your poem. The daily decision of how to insulate from the incoming hurt and disappointment from others as we hide our truth of pain and sadness. Somedays no amount of makeup and work suits can shield and hide the misery. You nail this process with laser precision. H🌷

It is difficult to be what you are not. Best deal with what you have and try to make it better. True, we all have - or may have - different façades with different people, we have different roles in Society, but we also learn and grow with each day. Regards, Robert.
