violet in hues of regret
my watercolor feelings ran violet
beautiful hues of blue and red pooled in a mixture of emotions
alone they were stark contrasts barely scratching the surface of my love for you
the full picture couldn't be fully understood until blended colors spoke
violet was sadness and passion in perfect understanding of each other
poignant melancholy so tenderly expressed
the blues of my sadness only told half the story
the reds of my passion seemed oddly juxtaposed with the blues of my pain
until in harmony, they bleed on the page swirling and dancing a ballet of feeling
then evoking emotions in others
I wonder what did they feel gazing at my emotive art?
was their heart stirred as mine was?
when true love lost was captured in color
violet lit up my skies as I keen in pain
flavoring my soul with regrets
coloring my lonely nights phantasmal
looking at my artistry the missing quotient discovered
there would be no more muddying the truth
you were gone forever
my days painted violet spoke in subtleties
in shades of heartbreak
lonely watercolors ran down my cheeks
I would be absolved of my sin
my art spoke of love and by it immortalized
there would always be an us
commingling in harmony...somewhere
