When Will They Find Me?

I've watched the sun rise and fall
Too many times to remember
The year, date and time.
I've watched the seasons go by
And gazed at wondering night skies.
I've seen birds migrate from where I laid
And felt maggots eating at my flesh
As vultures rip me apart.
I've felt every second as my flesh rotted away
Exposing my brittle bones in such decay.
My own stench so unbearable,
The pain so agonisingly intense
As I felt nothing.
Won't someone find me,
Finally,
So my soul could rest?
I wonder if they've searched for me
Or maybe even tried,
I wonder as my
lingering spirit roams about
In the land of
The forgotten.
