The Enticer or The Punisher
Which is worse, really?
Serpent hung
From the lowest branch
Silver tongued,
Hissed, "Now's your chance!
Taste,
Of this forbidden fruit
Embrace,
revealed hidden truth."
All at once
We feel the shame
No one but
Ourselves to blame
Begun pure
Now become stained
There's no cure
To numb the pain
This venom courses
Through our veins
Now we know why
the Lord forth came
Spoke "I implore
you to abstain."
From his word
We often stray
For relief from
This curse we pray
We learned that day
