THE ABSENCE OF LIFE AND DEATH

Once upon a time will my remains rest in peace
Or will they rest in pieces before the starving beast?
I traveled alone to the depths of the Underworld
And witnessed the dying from sea to haunted shore

Black wolves howl
At my tomb
Empty but for
The heart I left behind

I'm between God and the devil
Without a trace of love or hate
I cannot take a single breath
Reaching for light in the darkness
Finding only Hell in Heaven
In the absence of life and death

I'm mortified in your chamber
Blackened by obsidian lights from last December
Opposites attract oddities in tomorrow's cusp
When we composed the anthem of decaying rust

Crows gather
In the rain
Mourning in the
Dusk that's haunted by us

I'm between God and the devil
Without a trace of love or hate
I cannot take a single breath
Reaching for light in the darkness
Finding only Hell in Heaven
In the absence of life and death

We burn in the cold
In the aftermath
Of the afterlife

Remember the end
At the beginning
Of nothing to come

WE BURN IN THE COLD
IN THE AFTERMATH
OF THE AFTERLIFE

REMEMBER THE END
AT THE BEGINNING
OF NOTHING TO COME

I'm between God and the devil
Without a trace of love or hate
I cannot take a single breath
Reaching for light in the darkness
Finding only Hell in Heaven
In the absence of life and death
