Lost Love
I let you down, love...
Completing a circle of disaster
I swore to never repeat
I promised to be a safe haven
A soft place to lie your head
And steady ground for weary feet
You broke me apart, love...
Smashed me into tiny pieces
And scattered me in the wind.
I wailed with the songs of lost souls
Craving your presence
No matter how desolate I became in the end.
I went searching for myself
And found her on the road
On my way to another's embrace.
She was wilting and weeping
But bloomed under a new horizon.
While the me that was yours fell farther and farther from grace.
I will see you in a clear blue sky.
In wisps of weed smoke on a summer night.
In your velvet voice echoing through the years.
You will forever be on my skin, in my bones.
Like a tattoo branding me eternally with your name.
Goodbye forever my love... I never meant to cause your tears.
