My town

Outrageous stormy thoughts in faces of thunder,
thorny attitudes imprisoning aspirations of common sense,
violent cheers of tequila slammed; lemon a sweetener to their bitter ways,
words I hear and once recognised; from triangle women and rectangle men,
pushing tender joys, yet unshaped.
Grimy smiles read as ignorance is bliss,
disdain of difference; folded delicacy over ice until solid peaks are formed,
nemow, nem,
they’re a bit backward here,
primary purpose unknown,
gold filled smile of success knows best,
a humour that can glamour,
like the Barbies in child size skirts,
coupling real men; in pink.
Cosmopolitan vibes where Magaluf and Malibu collide,
I swallow my drink weakly,
I have no strength for this town.
