Youth in Revolt
Hey you, keep an eye on the revolution
But remove the U and the I and it’s ON
A revolt feels like it will be the solution
Yet something bigger will come at dawn
There is a difference between protest and riot
The latter is counterproductive if you ask me
Everyone is mad as hell and they will not be quiet
Without an end in sight wondering when it will be
When I was young and dumb, I held my tongue
I watched my city burn down to the ground
Now an entire nation has smoked filled lungs
Because injustice is found in almost every town
It is a rage that has been building up for centuries
When the death of one man is the tipping point
Thousands will be left with nothing but injuries
Memories of a revolution that the fire anoints
I have been there before and I have seen the worst
They’ll bombard propaganda right in our backyards
Cities will be scarred by the military and guard
As they roll the tanks down the main boulevards
But when injustice shows its face again
Then the real revolution will begin
