Imagery Bursts of Colours

Little Robin Frozen upon the steps
bird chirped weakly
willing its wings to move
it's legs to carry it up
warm hands from mittens
cupped its gasping body
warmth suffused its beings
and it chirped a little song

cool morning air
soothing to a tired mind
balmy to the soul
Peace reigns
haste o rain
fall upon our parched soil
flood the shallow creek
bless the frogs and ducks

Rumbling stomachs
hunger easily heard
running on paddy bunds
feet bare, unshod
cool water of river
aqueducts of bamboo
trickling down into drums
water for the kitchen

beauty in petals of roses
scents when they dry
wrinkled in potpourri
yet its essence lives on
bittersweet sorrow
tasted bile
thrown up
love now deceased

Silken hair Cascades
on youthful shoulder
tinted black as night
cheeks rose pink
eyes Liquid brown
deepest pools
of compassion
as she watched him

Eyes closed imagination flurries
ribbons of rainbows coloured splendour
on blue skies with yellow Sunrays
dappling the ground under trees
a whiff of perfume frangipani
white pink and coral flowers
nodding in the breeze
distant laughter breaks reverie
