PLAY IT AGAIN
i am these
blues
in this
sweet dark --
B flat
with E string
cupped and muffled
and high sad
note bent
hard
and lips
soft and full
against
the mic
and
your
good
groan
and god,
so fuckin' deep
it's almost
a whisper
and beautiful
brown fingers
tender,
calloused
on my
poor soul
that it might wail
too
in this
bleak
and lonely
minute

At first got the writer confused with someone else, but once we started reading we couldn't stop. This is extra tight, we love music of any kind

Extra tight indeed ... distilled down to its essence ... just the way I like it ... awesome flow ... crispy crisp line breaks ...

A sense of a hard reality, yet a simmering need. A hard line yet an approachable air. Some mystery here! Well done.

Thank you, A.
Sometimes a song will resonate so deeply. I was trying to communicate that -- that and respect for the mastery of the performer. I may have missed the mark, but I am happy you enjoyed the poem. Your kind and thoughtful comments are always encouraging and so much appreciated. Thanks again.

You're right on the money with the resonation. We don't just lose ourselves in music and song - we become the speaker it vibrates through and out into the room. Great stuff, Jav.
