Fucking Saints
we were anarchist at the top of the world
remembering a time now cloudy
like staring into a dirty mirror
thinking there's something clear
behind those smears
now I see
with you I'm there again
flipping the image
young and looking towards the future
I don't understand
how someone so beautiful
could even exist
told you I see you
my vision never changed
we can't change the mistakes
more years means more slip-ups
I'm sorry starts to wear out it's welcome
yet I still feel loved in your arms
no mistaking this is where I belong
come snuggle closer
hope is never lost
not as long as we have eachother
I don't understand
how someone so beautiful
could ever want me
so much hate out there in this ugly world
fuckers like to dissect every word
maybe I shouldn't be so cryptic
tell them clearly
I march to my death for only one
lover to end all others
so I have no time for nonsense
but you are different from those people
no crudeness in that gorgeous body
the beauty to my beast
I don't understand
how someone so beautiful
could fight so elegantly
we age and weld together
never felt closer
late night drives
and neon lights
takes me back to the first time
you with your punk rock makeup
hip hop flair in my swagger
that middle finger
straight up for the haters
going back to the bedroom
laying bare
exposing true selves
seeing we are as pure as the fountain of youth
remembering a time now cloudy
like staring into a dirty mirror
thinking there's something clear
behind those smears
now I see
with you I'm there again
flipping the image
young and looking towards the future
I don't understand
how someone so beautiful
could even exist
told you I see you
