THE QUEST PT.2
We find Nimuea following a predetermined course,
as the warrior undertakes
the epic quest that she was assigned.
The dense forest gives way to the road
that will lead to the lost Grimoire of light.
Nimuea rides in quiet contemplation;
the silence allows her to devise the
strategy necessary to achieve her goal.
Haunting memories agitate her blood and ire;
in the not so distant past,she was also
the victim of a tyrant that exercised
his right of *Jus Primae Noctis*.
That terrible event was to alter
the course of her destiny forever.
Her innocence stolen,
her young husband executed
for having defied a tyrant wishes;
she tries not to recall the day
that signaled the end of her dreams.
Even thus, the sadness floods her heart
and mind with the memories of that night,
her wedding night, celebrated with simplicity
full of excitement for
the future they would undertake.
They did not ever imagine the master of those lands
would exact such a high price for the dream
of young love they so longed for.
When he did arrive, he congratulated
the happy couple and their families and,without
preamble demanded his right to the maidenhead.
NOOO!!! A great cry of incredulity
was felt among the relatives and friends
gathered there for the celebration.
They could not believe that the land owner
was so villainous,to dare do something so inhuman.
The master was not be made to wait;
he gave the order, detain any
who interfered with his demand;
brutal measures were taken against
the young husband, chaining him to a tree,
forced to watch helplessly the tragic events.
Ruthlessly the tyrant took the maiden and,
before all in attendance, despoiled her,
stealing her innocence; ridiculing her tears,
cries pain and humiliation, he rapped her
till he exhausted himself.
Having quenched his lust with this vile act
he gave the order to behead the young husband
for having challenged his right of first night.
Cries of outrage and disbelief
were heard the length and breath
of the village, this act of debauchery
reaffirmed to all his omnipotence,
and the fate that befall any who opposed him.
Laughing cruelly amid pats on the back
and the praises of his men he withdrew
to his castle keep.
The misfortune of that night
is never to be forgotten,
forever marked by the events
that gave birth to the
mercenary warrior she has become.
Vowing chastity and wearing her mourning
like a mantel, for life, she went village
to village and without looking back,
began her new life.
She trained her body honing her skills
in the art of war and, her mind
in the arts of natural magic;
she would recreate herself
into a formidable weapon.
Thus was the tale of her exploits and
prowess’s, an irrevocable conviction
in justice without mercy which has been
recounted time and again.
She is to become the stuff of legends…
