Shadow Sky
I recite my musings to the shadow skies
When nobody cares to nod at my negligence
Or even scold me for that matter
I tend to think I’m a self punisher..
Maybe that’s all I know
Punishment, abandonment, rejection, the whole package
If it’s all I’ve ever known
How can I decipher what’s genuinely good?
Shadow sky, keep listening
It gets old staring at empty space
Extending for light years
That’s what it feels like to me, we understand to some degree
Life trails on
And I see no ending
Responses are given the glory
And I seek them, criticism and compliments
But shadow sky, you’ve taught me
That a response doesn’t always require talking
Silence tells a story.
When nobody cares to nod at my negligence
Or even scold me for that matter
I tend to think I’m a self punisher..
Maybe that’s all I know
Punishment, abandonment, rejection, the whole package
If it’s all I’ve ever known
How can I decipher what’s genuinely good?
Shadow sky, keep listening
It gets old staring at empty space
Extending for light years
That’s what it feels like to me, we understand to some degree
Life trails on
And I see no ending
Responses are given the glory
And I seek them, criticism and compliments
But shadow sky, you’ve taught me
That a response doesn’t always require talking
Silence tells a story.
