Answer To Serenity
I need no prayer for serenity,
Nor courage,
Nor wisdom,
Nor change.
I already know to accept the unchangeable,
And to not fight
What I know
To be real.
And you, O Force,
Be you karma or cosmos or King,
You have been here from the beginning-
Before me
And after me
And in me.
You are eternal,
And cannot be changed.
So I do not try.
But you are not my master.
I may be a slave to reality,
And I may not fight what is true,
But I will not be a slave to circumstance.
You may rule the world around me,
But I, myself, am free.
My thoughts are my own
And my peace
My own to find.
I need no orders,
Nor tenets,
Nor rulers,
Nor codes-
I will do
What I do
Because I will-
And what is right,
Or wrong,
Or untouchable,
I will decide.
You may take the ground from beneath me-
But you cannot make me fall.
Nor courage,
Nor wisdom,
Nor change.
I already know to accept the unchangeable,
And to not fight
What I know
To be real.
And you, O Force,
Be you karma or cosmos or King,
You have been here from the beginning-
Before me
And after me
And in me.
You are eternal,
And cannot be changed.
So I do not try.
But you are not my master.
I may be a slave to reality,
And I may not fight what is true,
But I will not be a slave to circumstance.
You may rule the world around me,
But I, myself, am free.
My thoughts are my own
And my peace
My own to find.
I need no orders,
Nor tenets,
Nor rulers,
Nor codes-
I will do
What I do
Because I will-
And what is right,
Or wrong,
Or untouchable,

You may take the ground from beneath me-
But you cannot make me fall.
