This is great ... love the short lines ... the simple single stanza ... the turn at the end ... by far one of your very best poems ...

Definitely a change of style for you, however, a killer written piece with accuracy & fluidity on the subject matter !
A fine write... 🔥🔥🔥

Thank you so much, love. I stayed up into the wee hours of the morning struggling for a closing line for one of my stories and came up with this. A famous novelist said we do our best writing late at night because the unconscious rises closer to the surface. Thanks for your great words, my friend. :)
Thank you to Shadow Star for you right on words and the RL. You really got this one perfectly. I love it when one of my poems feels accurate to the reader about my subject matter. It means so much to me.

Much gratitude dearest Crimsin. There is irony in love indeed. Very glad you got the underlying truths within my words.

The visceral metaphor holds subtle wisdom of the cyclic nature of beingness for me. Read a quote from Gibran earlier that very much resonates. Pain is the shell through which we break to find understanding.
The brevity of this write intensifies the gravitas of its message. Great work John.

Love that quote by Gibran. He was a master of poetic spiritual writing. And indeed visceral is this contemplation. Love that my brevity gave the message more gravitas my friend.

Love that quite too.
John, I love when you write out of your norm. It's always shocking and a new window through which to view your beautiful soul.
All my love john.

Glad you enjoyed me stepping out of my prose world. Indeed it was refreshing to write this. This actually at first was going to be the finale for a story. I stayed up until three in the morning cogitating on it. But it made a better poem than story denouement.
Love back to ya dawlin'

Oh my, sweet John, I'm excited to read my favorite writer this morning. Forgive my empty promises & absences. I've yet to see a metered & minimalist piece from you, but I'm ever impressed, the same. Such truth and perfection held in so little words! Im hoping perhaps love is in the air for you, you're so deserving! Pandy hugs, my sweet friend.xx

Romantic love is past tense but love in a broader sense is ever-living and breathing. Thank you my darling Pandy for bestowing such a wonderful gift of words this morning. HUgs back to you my friend.

Ah, I was hoping it was that waitress you've been stalking.
Perhaps Covid has affected that, my mind now wonders.🤔

Yes, sadly Covid wasn't good for my love life either. The waitress and I had an emotional parting. Not sure if I was stalking her or she was I since she struck up our conversations. Every sign she gave me inspired the prospect of love. Miss her tons.

Bless your heart. I was merely joking about the stalking part. You're too much of a gentleman, John!

Oh, dawlin I got the joke and love your sense of humor. It gave me the opportunity to update my restaurant flirtation. Thanks for the opening my friend. ;)
