Little Girl

“I’m actually twenty”
*gasp*
Typical.

Little girls are babies
They remind me of puppies and teenie fluffy bunnies
I’m none of those things
I’m twenty.

Little girls are mischievous, troublesome, and a bit naughty
Maybe I am sometimes
But still
I’m twenty
Not an infant to be carried.

“You look quite young!”
Thanks, I’m sure I’ll be grateful when I’m forty
I’ve heard that one before
Little girl
Tattooed on me
Not even faded
By my articulate vocabulary
Seriously?

I may be small and dainty
Go ahead and lift me
I’m not heavy
I may look cute and charming
But I’m not a little girl
I’m twenty.

Little girls go running
Crying away for mommy
At least they’ve got somebody
Maybe I am a little girl..
Even though
I’m twenty.
