Earworms of the annoying kind (Day 15)
Those songs
that I heard once or twice
But never really gelled with me,
so why do they echo in my mind?
There are far more numerous
and far more enjoyable
and more fondly remembered
that could be playing as my internal soundtrack,
surely they should be the ones to be singing?
Yet, instead,
those ones replay over and over
their annoying snippets on repeat
Possibly begging to be listened to one more time:
maybe then I would learn to like them;
but No,
I did not like them the first time
they did not chime with me
so they will not win my favour and favouritism
on a second or third time around
simply by badgering my brain.
I just need to find the right adored song
to obliterate those worms from memory
so those chosen serenades
can be fully welcomed to fly freely through my mind.
