Chained from birth to cruel reality,
was there ever a time we haven't been
just prisoners longing to be free?

So many bodies twisted by palsy
and down's children who can hardly make a friend,
chained from birth to cruel reality.

Though they seemed to abolish slavery
there are more slaves in the world now than back then,
just prisoners longing to be free.

Here we are arrested for growing a tree
in America where we all begin
chained from birth to cruel reality.

Anything to quell our misery,
escaping through addiction with no end,
just prisoners longing to be free.

Of all sad truths here is the hardest to see:
We are Gods deceived into being human
