well of dreams
i've got a garden with a well
it isn’t very big
it's a rather cozy little circle,
the well hugged tenderly in the center.
and the well holds not water
but hopes and dreams
what better place to keep them
than one that blooms and grows
that sighs with the wind
and glows in the sun
i've got every color you can imagine there
i'm surrounded by life at the well.
today i poured in my biggest dream,
and then i got a visitor;
he told me that gardens also die
and that i shouldn't hide my hopes and dreams
in a well in a place that dies
because then they just might die, too
he pulled them all out of the well
and sent them out of the garden,
turned to me and said,
"Follow your dreams."
