Pandemic
In a far away market
Where the food's kept unclean
A disease is coming
Contagious and unseen
People fall ill
And soon end up dead
Things are getting serious
The disease starts to spread
Warnings are issued
But it's not our problem yet
It's not in our country
So there's no need to fret
More people get infected
But it's still not a big deal
Now the disease is on our shores
Suddenly shit just got real
The people start to panic
And lose all self control
The shops are cleaned out
As they fight over toilet roll
The leader needs to act
Or be seen as a clown
The decision is made
To put us all into lockdown
Wash your hands, keep your distance
Don't leave it upto fate
If you feel like you have symptoms
Make sure you self isolate
No football, no school
No drinking out with friends
The death toll keeps rising
How much longer till it all ends?
Businesses begin struggling
The cracks start to show
You're either deemed a key worker
Or sent home on furlough
Doctors and nurses keep working
With their tireless determination
Outside the people applaud them
Just to show their appreciation
The race goes on
For us to find a vaccine
Hopefully sooner rather than later
We can end Covid-19
This disease is a battle
It's a storm we must weather
Let us not lose our hope
For we're all in this together.
Where the food's kept unclean
